Junior Points Championship

The Puget Sound Region of USA Volleyball will be hosting a points championship series throughout the summer of 2013.  The championship series is modeled after the new Junior Points Championship Series being launched by USA Volleyball and will reward competitors for their finish in USA Volleyball Sanctioned Beach Events.

How it Works:

1.  USA Volleyball Junior Players will receive points based on their finish in USA Volleyball Sanctioned Beach Events.

2.  Points will be tallied throughout the summer and used for seeding at USA Volleyball Events as well as published on Beach.SoundVolleyball.com.  The points available from qualifying sand events will also be sent to the national USA Beach Volleyball Standings. 

3.  At the end of the summer, the top point earners in each age division will be recognized and some will be eligible for entry into special beach volleyball camps at the Regional and National Level.

Three Champions will Be Crowned in Each Age Group

The Overall Summer Volleyball Champion
This title goes to the player in each age group who earns the most points in all summer USA Volleyball sanctioned events.  This includes 2v2 and 4v4 events played on sand or grass.  Only events that occur within the Puget Sound Region are tallied for this division. 

The Puget Sound Beach Champion
This title will be earned by the player in each age division who tallies the most points in USA Volleyball sanctioned beach events played in the sand.  Only results received for tournaments played in the 2v2 format will be tallied for this event.  Players may earn points towards this championship by playing in USA Volleyball sanctioned beach events outside of the Puget Sound Region, such as the USA Volleyball High Performance Championships and the US Junior Beach Open National Championships.

The Puget Sound Grass Volleyball Champion
This title will go to the junior USAV member in each age division that tallies the most points at USA Volleyball sanctioned grass volleyball tournaments throughout the summer.  Players may only earn points for this division by entering events sanctioned within the Puget Sound Region.

Age Divisions

U12  Players who were born on or after September 1, 2000
U14  Players who were born on or after September 1, 1998
U16  Players who were born on or after September 1, 1996
U18  Players who were born on or after September 1, 1994

How to Earn Points Towards the Championship

USA Volleyball registered junior volleyball players will earn points towards the championships based on their finish in each USA Volleyball sanctioned event.  The table below illustrates the number of points awarded for each finish.  The more teams that are entered in your division at that tournament, the more points that you can earn.

Example:  If you finish in third place of a tournament with 34 teams in your division, you would earn 48 points.  Your partner will also earn 48 points towards the championship.  All point totals are individual.

*Players playing "up" an age division will receive a 10% bonus on their finish results

*Only tournaments that are sanctioned by USA Volleyball earn points in any division
*T-XX indicates that a player has finished tied for a position
